Ab targeting exercises for scoliosis sufferers?

Hi everyone. I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have the spongy gut thing going on from the weight I've lost, and I want to start doing some ab strengthening exercises.

I find sit ups/similar exercises extremely painful and bad for my back. I have a congenital form of scoliosis and the curvature is quite pronounced despite the rods.

I'd appreciate any tips/exercises you may have!
Thanks in advance!

Tracy

I have scoliosis as well. I cannot do situps since they hurt my spine too much but i can usually lie flat and do reverse sit ups. Also, if you go to the gym they have that device... i dont know what its called but its two bars with a handle on each where you use your upper body to hold yourself up. If you do that and then move your legs as if you are doing a crunch, and with your shoulders back, you will get a GREAT work out! :)
