NSV - BOD POD results

I am 44 yrs and am 5'2". Back in September 2009, I weighed 156.5 lbs. I remember saying to myself "this is my 42 yr old body. I can't help it." However, all the justifications in the world didn't help that I was miserable and depressed about my bloated, blobby body, because I knew in my heart this was NOT ME!!
My 25th class reunion was taking place in Summer 2010. So me and 4 other classmate participated in a weight loss challenge. Taking pictures of our weight on scales weekly was part of the challenge. We did awesome...each losing well over 20 lbs. At the time all I did was count calories and exercise....walking, bike riding, and ZUMBA! I ate whatever I wanted (just less amounts of it), with my Fridays and Saturdays FREE.
I continued to lose, hit 131 lbs in September 2010 and was able to maintain until September 2011. All of sudden my processed foods turned against me. And ZUMBA was no longer cutting it. According to the scale, which I call SATAN'S LITTLE HELPER, no matter what I did, I was gaining and my body looked it. I was 7 lbs heavier and the blobby, bloated look was back.
I had reached the point when I could no longer "exercise my way out of bad diet." A CALORIE WAS NO LONGER A CALORIE.
In November, I went to a "Boot Camp" held by the woman who owns the gym/studio I go to. I have seen the results of her knowledge, so I value what she says. That weekend, I learned alot about how nutrition is important to burn fat. I also learned.
*** Quit going by what the scale says
*** Eat 6 small meals a day (each containing a protein, a carb and a fat). This is to keep the blood sugar level even.
*** Nutritional supplements are important
*** Resistance/strength is key.
*** Estabilish a good support group.
There are other things, but these are the ones I have followed since January 2, 2012...the day I decided to start focusing on FAT BURNING and GAINING MUSCLES and less on "losing weight."
So.....my first BOD POD analysis was done on December 1, 2011. ( I should have waited until after the holidays, but oh well.) As I stated, I really didn't start my new regime until January 2, 2012. So....from January 2, 2012 to February 25, 2012.....
I ONLY lost 1.3 lbs. I weigh 138.3 lbs.
But.......
I lost 2 inches from hips.
I lost 1 inch from waist.
I lost 2 lbs of fat.
I gained 1 lb of muscle.
Went from a size 8 to a size 6.
My workout regime for the past 7 weeks included: pole tone, pole fitness, ZUMBA, walking and TRX.
My eating....counting calories and being mindful Sun - Thurs. Eating a bit more loosely and enjoying an adult beverage or two on Fri and Sat. WATER, WATER, WATER EVERYDAY!
I plan to change my workout regime a bit, to focus more on my lower body. My next BOD POD analysis....May 12, 2012.
Last thing....I get the hold that Satan's Little Helper has on us, I've been there. But eventually, it will turn on you and not be your friend. We give it way too much power! Well, I don't any more and I have never felt more positive and free about my "healthy lifestyle."
I wish everyone luck in their "fit and healthy lifestyles" journey!
