Getting Up Early?

When I started losing weight almost 9 months ago, I was really good at waking up at 6AM to exercise for 30-50 minutes. My alarm would go off and there was no problem what so ever. This past month, however, I can't seem to wake up until the last possible minute I can. I'm pretty sure a lot of this has to do with the current stresses in my life - but still!
When I plan to work out later in the day, something always comes up. Whether it's I find "excuses" not to work out or I have a REAL reason as to why it's cancelled. Therefore, I want to get back into the routine of waking up early to get some exercising done. Does anyone have an advice? I know, I know "Just make yourself get up." I'm working on that, but really how did you get yourself to start waking up early?

I get up at 10 to 4 every morning so I completely understand you issue of not wanting to get up. I know one thing that has really helped me quite a bit is to get everything ready the night before....so getting to the workout isn't a chore. I know if I have to find workout close, my water bottle, get the dvd in the player or get the weights I need ready it becomes more of a chore just to get to the workout. The less I have to do pre workout the better....and then after that...JUST GET UP. It will take a week or two to get back into it. But don't let yourself talk yourself back into going to sleep.0

Yep, I also get all my stuff ready the night before. Not only does it make it easier in the morning, but I feel like it's a little mental "nudge" to get out of bed.
I've also been going to bed earlier. And also, for me, when I get into a pattern of work outs, I know that it makes me feel better. If you can just force yourself to do it for a week and get into the pattern, it will feel less like a chore.
And, for me, getting a work out in at 5am means that if something DOES come up later, I don't feel too guilty.0 -

This is exactly what I did. granted, today was my 1st early workout @ 5am, but I did it. I made sure I had my work out stuff in the dvd player, weights on the floor, clothes ready. Also, I prepped all my usual morning routine stuff last night too. Kids, my and husbands lunches packed, coffee pre-set, everyones clothes set...so all I had to do was get out of bed, hit play and get to work. It was a lot easier than I thought.0
