I was wondering..... does having a fan on during a sweaty workout reduce the number of calories you burn because you are not sweating as much? Thanks!

Nope. Sweating has nothing to do with calorie burn or fat loss.0

Ha! Good to know... Random thought entered my head this morning - glad it was a stupid question :laugh:0

If you really did sweat less, you'd lose more water weight even though you not burning any more calories. But it wouldn't be a meaningful or permanent loss. You'd gain it back when you drink water.
But I suspect you're not really sweating less. Probably the sweat is just evaporating more quickly, which is why the fan is so good at cooling you off. You're losing what chemists call the enthalpy of vaporization, the heat of vaporization, or heat of evaporation.0 -
^^^ Thanks treetop57! That makes sense0
