i am going on vacation in april and thought it would be fun to go buy some new vacation clothes. boy was i wrong! since i bulked i no longer fit into the sizes i once wore. :grumble: i know that by bulking i got bigger but i have been cutting now for 3 weeks and have only lost 1.2lbs. my goal is .5lbs a week so i am not doing too bad but i feel like i ballooned up almost over night! my jeans and shorts do not fit and i am starting to wonder if bulking was a BAD idea?!?! i see alot of people on these forums who swear you can build muscle while on a deficit. i dont know if i believe this but i do not feel like i look musclular. I just look fat. i do not know if this is due to fat gains while bulking and my muscle will start to show through once i loose some more weight while cutting?! someone help because i am starting to feel helpless

I think you'll start to look more muscular as you cut :) Besides, you have until April, you still have a while.

Most of my clothes don't fit either, I think it's just part of bulking tbh (I'm literally wearing one pair of jeans only! - I haven't worn the others in aaagges) I have a friends 21st in mid-April too which I want to buy a new dress for, for when we go out :D so we're kind of in the same situation.

Also, I know a few people swear by gaining muscle in a deficit, but I really don't believe that (unless they're those special circumstances like new to lifting) because I lifted heavy for ages on a deficit, and it wasn't even a large one, never went below 1500 net and always had enough protein. Still had f all muscle. Other people on here had that issue too so it's not just me. Plus as far as I know there have been several peer reviewed studies on it (although I haven't read any, so I can't quote you on that, but a few other people I see on the forums have posted links) Once I had done a bulk I realised it really wasn't all that hard for me to gain (with the right food / lifting of course) and gained a fair amount.
