YOR HEALTH: Gimmick or not?

I am not sure if you have ever heard of Yor Health products (http://www.yorhealth.com/) but they are this company that makes meal replacement shakes and they do a lot of their marketing through *networking*, or word of mouth. Recently my best friend started using their product and she says that she has lost 6 POUNDS in ONE WEEK because she is using this system, which she says has enzymes that help break down food faster. She also has been selling their products, and she is really avid on trying to recruit me and the rest of our friends to all sell these products under her, and shes going to make a lot of money. I dont know about you, but it sounds like a pyramid scheme to me and I am not buying into it.
I did a lot of research and I came up with sites that said it was a scam, but my friend has told me she has so much more energy, she feels like she can ~conquer the world~, and she says that her skin, hair and nails are becoming stronger and more alive. I can see that she looks a lot younger and more vivacious too, since shes started using the product. I hate to say I am jealous, but I feel a little green with envy. She is literally just dropping pounds.
I am worried about her...like if she stops using these products she might gain ALL the weight PLUS some back, and shes going to be really depressed. She is really acting out of character, its comparable to someone with bipolar disorder on a mania episode. She keeps talking about these GRAND PLANS she has since shes started losing weight, and shes never acted like this before. Other people have reported that they have a lot of energy and more stamina throughout the day.
I dont buy into this, but I really need opinions on this. Has anyone tried these products? What were your results? What should I tell my friend? Does this stuff really work or is it a huge pyramid scheme? Anything will help!!!

It is a Pyramid company like Juice plus and the others. Just say you are not interested and move on. As far as losing the weight, wouldn't you rather do it the natural way and not have to rely on meal replacements?0

I've not hear of the company or the products but it could be that your friend is going through what a lot of people do when they start a diet. They are full of expectations and enthusiasm about starting it and when they lose a lot of weight when they first start it only improves their mood about it. With any company that tries to sell through peoples families and friends that promises big things, it seems more like a pyramid set up then anything else. I have no advice to give but that's what my opinion is on the situation.0

I started taking yor health a few months ago. Within days I had heaps of energy and lost weight on them. I stopped them after 2 months due to cost and felt awful. So I bit the bullet and ordered more. And I feel great again. I have lost 27kg using the products and highly recommend them. Yor health is not a pyramid. Their reps get paid on product volume not recruiting. Anyone can purchase products as a customer. Yes it is network marketing but those who call it a pyramid don't understand it. The business model is similar to tupperware etc.0

I'm always skeptical when a person's first post is promoting a weight loss product. Especially if they haven't filled out their profile.0 -
meal replacement shakes are just a gimmicky way to eat less...your friend can do the same thing with protein shakes and probably lose just as much, although, I would not recommend doing it that way. Eat less, work out more = lose weight....everyone always wants the shortcut way to weight loss...I guess that is our "have it now" culture ughhhh...
To the one person that said "I tried it worked, then stopped and I felt like crap, so now I am going to start again" I hope you realize how moronic that statement is ...geez
Tell your friend to join MFP, count calories, and work out more.....she will be better for it in long run...0 -
Totally not a gimmick. I compete nationally, so the products actually help me get the nutrition I can't get in a near perfect diet. Currently a wellness coach and helping others with their meal plans and weight loss, bodybuilding, and performance, people always want to know the products and supplements that I use, which is all yor health. I use absolutely the entire line every single day. The reason the products are so beneficial, is because we simply CANNOT get the required nutrition through food anymore. It would take almost 50 bowls of spinach to equal only one bowl about 40 years ago. Everything is depleted, so we really do need more.
As for the company, it is definitely not a scam. The president of the Harvard business school thoroughly researched the business and was quoted by giving the company an A+. It is a multi level marketing business like Tupperware and Mary Kay, so every person runs it differently as their own business.
If you have any other questions, i can help through my athlete page on facebook. I only use myfitness pal while I am calculating diets for my clients, and in fact didn't know there were forums on here until I was doing more research for the products and this forum popped up. www.facebook.com/baileyfitnessandfaith0
