What part does your Faith play in your weight loss journey?

As a Christian, I believe that my relationship with God and my faith plays a huge part of my weight loss experience. Do you find it easy to link your faith with your weight loss journey? How do you encourage others to do the same?

In the bible it says that your body is a temple. One must respect it and cherish it. Albeit, not be obsessed with it...0

I am a very spiritual person. I believe that God (Source) Lives within me. With that being said it is easy to look at my body as the temple of God. I know that there is something greater abiding in me so therefore when things get challenging I call on my greater self to get me through. I believe we all have a God given strength to get through anything. It keeps me motivated and it keeps me positive enough to look forward to the future. I believe that positive energy will get me through anything I want to accomplish. The law of attraction is – that which you ask for will come to you. I basically asked for a Fit and healthy body and its manifesting. Good post!0

I also believe that my body is a gift from God and I should try to take good care of it (while being careful not to get obsessed, as someone else said). I also think that my previous weight gain was partly caused by valuing short-term gratification and quick fixes over long-term goals and lasting gratification. So, in that sense, I see a link between becoming more disciplined with my body and becoming a more disciplined, more generous, more righteous person. It's not that when I'm skinny I'll be more moral or godly, but I do think that losing weight and learning discipline is good practice for facing other daily difficult choices I have to make.0
