so I did the new leaf testing at the YMCA..my RMR ( resting metabolic rate) is 1305. A trainer told me to stop eating 1200 cals and never eat below 1305. He also said to eat back all exercise calories...my question if I do all of this, how will I loose the remaining 20lbs...is there still a deficit built in my day ??

My guess is that they felt that you were under-eating and your metabolism had slowed as a result. It is also possible that they felt that your body fat level was within normal limits and that you needed to tone and build muscle (which is heavier than fat cells)... The other thing that sort of comes to mind is that Resting Metabolic Rate = doing nothing. In addition to exercise caloric burn you also have a daily activity burn from doing things such as walking, talking, etc. That would be the calories you would be burning. Best way to find out their thought process though is to ask them. Also, you may want to talk to your doctor about it. Mine actually disagreed with the goal weight that my "Y" assessment established for me... (He would rather see me at 230 or so rather than the 248-288 the "Y" recommended.)

Yup, as long as you don't count leaving your bed as exercise...

I don't know if you saw these when I posted the other day, but reading these explained a lot to me!
