Saving money and staying fit!

My mom is about to turn 53 and walks with her friends to stay in shape. She walks however many laps around the school where they work, totaling three miles every time. She and her friends have this new plan to help them save money and reward themselves.

It's kind of like a swear jar. They each have one. Every time they walk, they put money (I guess a dollar, I'm going to do it with less because I'm a broke teenager) in their jar. I guess when it fills up, they take their money and buy themselves something nice! I think it's going to be a great motivator to me. I'm saving up for a tattoo (also a surprise for my mom, so even more motivation) so I will definitely be using it. I think I'll do 50 cents for every time I go to the gym and a quarter for every time I work out at home.

I just love this idea so I thought I'd share. Do you guys think this is a good idea? Anyone else willing to try it?
