  • I am on a 1200/day plan and I am rarely hungry. So I am guessing it's WHAT you eat, not how much. You need to really ramp up your fiber and protein content, both will help you feel full for longer periods of times. You should also be eating 6x's a day: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. I dont' know what you're eating now, so it's hard to tell you what to stop doing. Know what I mean? What's a day like for your now?

Hi.Don't worry. Your body will get used to it and it won't be such a struggle anymore. My advice would be first of all to find healthy filling foods which naturally have less calories and to cut out processed food.
My way of dealing with wanting to eat more food was to do the exercise that earned me those calories! You need to eat back any exercise calories anyway so this always worked well for me. If you are worried about the exercise, don't. I started just with walking and exercise dvds and then later went on to running . Feel free to add me add a friend. You can do this!

Try having some Quinoa - its 222 calories for a cup but it will fill you right up - I usually have this with a home made chopped salad that is dressed in lemon juice and a little salt. It's good hot or cold !

    Good luck

Hey there! I know exactly how you feel. How do you go from eating 2000+ calories a day down to 1200 or 1400? I wondered the same. Here are my best tips (I've lost a little over 6lbs in about 2 months - so not great, but I've been off track for a few weeks :/)

Tip 1 - Don't drink pop! I only drink water. All day every day. The only other think I drink (occasionally) is milk. Also make sure your counting anything you drink that isnt water into your calorie counter. Seeing those calories will show you that water is so much more worth it. :) ALSO - Drinking a full glass of water before you eat each meal could make you eat less because your stomach will be full of water. :)

Tip 2 - Eat more fruits and veggies. I am a VERY picky eater, and I don't eat many vegetables, but upping the amount I do eat helps me feel more full. Say I eat a Hot Pocket or Lean Pocket. Where I would have normally eaten both (since 2 come in a box), I now instead eat just one and have half a can of green beans with it. Much healthier and I feel much more full.

Tip 3 - Do it for YOU. While doing it for your husband, kids, family, etc are GREAT reasons to get in shape, you'll NEVER stay motivated unless you're doing it for your own health/happiness.

Tip 4 - Find a friend who has similar goals. You'll help each other stick to it. (I'm still working on this one myself.)

Hope I've helped!!! :) Feel free to add me! :)

EDIT - ALSO, make your goals smaller. Don't make your first short term goal so severe. Make your goals in 5 lb intervals so that you can check them off quicker and feel more accomplished. :)

You could try reducing the calorie intake in stages - say one week at 1800 cals per day, the next week at 1600 and so on. Less of a shock for your body, I think.
