Ricotta v Cottage Cheese

My PT has recommended I eat cottage cheese as I have recently started weights and I don't eat meat or poultry. I am not a fan of cottage cheese, but I am making myself eat it. My boss, who also hates cottage cheese, is trying to get me to swap to ricotta cheese which I think will be more palatable.
We have looked at the nutritional values for both, and ricotta is higher in protein but also fat.
Bearing in mind the above, which is the most healthiest bearing in mind I am only eating the stuff to improve my gym performance.
Your input is appreciated :-)
