Beginner with weights...What are some good excercises with w

Hi, I am wanting to start using small weights to tone up & gain muscle but not to bulk up. I am wondering what are some good at home things I can do with 2 or 3 lb weights to start out with. I am not sure how to do the whole reps/sets thing. I am very new at this...Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.
