Tendonitis in Achilles Tendon :(

Hello! I have been doing C25K and last week was week 4. On top of that I ran a 5k on the treadmill to see what time I was able to make, 42 minutes btw. Thursday, after doing D2 I started to feel a pain in my left heel. I went to Urgent Care yesterday and had xrays because I thought it might be a bone spur. Nope, tendonitis. Has this happened to any of you? I am on Lodine and was told no exercise for a week, which is killing me. What can I expect from this type of injury? Thank you!

C25K is designed so that you take it slowly and minimize your chances of injury. That's why you should follow it and not jump ahead.
Having said that, I did not get tendonitis in my Achilles Tendon, but I did strain my Posterior Tibial Tendon by running in shoes that I thought were running shoes that weren't. It took me a full week of no cardio and another 3 weeks of no running, just doing the arc trainer before I could get back to my C25K training. It set me back about a week.
Be sure to stretch really well before and after to help you avoid more injuries.0
