    I got a Polar FT40 on amazon for ~$110. I LOVE it!
My BF has a Polar F7, and he loves it. It's a fair amount less. I think it's in the $80 area.

*Edit - Remember, with HRM, you get what you pay for. The BF is jealous of mine!

  • Just got a Garmin FR60 (refurbished) with Garmin warranty for $85 off Ebay. Came with HRM strap, foot pod and usb sensor to connect to the computer. Also uses regular watch batteries you can replace yourself.

Thanks for asking this I had the exact same question. The Polar FT7 seems highly recommended. Not sure which one I'll go with, but will probably end up spending too much in the end anyway. Good luck!
