30 pounds down in 5 months!

I joined MFP on the 26th of September 2011. I've lost about 30 pounds since then. I used to eat only 1,200 calories (with very minimal to no exercise) the first 3-ish months or so of my weight loss. I slowly started adding 50 calories to where I am now- I eat 1,500 calories a day with still minimal exercise.
My question is- is the way that I lost weight safe? I absolutely did not starve myself at all, but my stomach did start demanding less food. (I also have PCOS and Hypothyroid)
I want to maintain my current weight. I am 5' 5'' and I weigh about 148 ish now. (I do not have a scale at home- therefore, cannot be sure of exact weight) I also drink at least 9 glasses of water a day
Should I continue eating 1,500 calories a day..should I add exercise/strength training? Should I eat less? Should I eat more?
Thanks for all the advice and help!

If you have been losing at 1500 and you now want to maintain you will need to add in some calories, probably only 200-300 per day, you'll have to play around a little with it. Remember, exercise is not just for weight loss, its for your health. your heart is a muscle and if you do not exercise it, it will weaken. The benefits of exercise range WAY beyond just simple weight loss.0

Great job. First thing you need to do is go into your settings and change your goals. You've probably had them set to lose weight and you want to change them to maintain your current weight. That will adjust the automatic calorie settings the MFP creates for you.0
