Noticing Weight Loss, Men vs Women?

Ok, so, is it just me or are people much more ready to say something to a guy when they notice he is losing weight rather than a woman? I mean, my husband and I are losing weight together, and while I know it is so much easier for him to lose weight than me, I still feel like it is extremely noticeable that I've lost 15 lbs in the last 6 weeks...I think he's lost like 20 or 25. Anyway, everyone we see immediately tells him how great he looks and how wonderful it is that he's lost so much weight, and they say nothing to me. He knows I get annoyed with this and tells me not to worry about it, he figures they just don't want to be insulting, but everyone likes to hear that when they are spending night and day working towards something like losing weight that it is noticed, right? I just wondered if anyone else has noticed this, or if it is just me.

I would never comment on a woman's weight unless I'm fairly close friends with her. 1 or 2% will find some reason to get offended and so I shy away from it. Guys might get offended in same numbers, but I won't get any type of HR complaint filed against me from a guy.

I can understand why you'd be annoyed though. I'd be bugged if nobody seemed to notice my weight loss but noticed my wife's.

from what I can tell people are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more likely to tell a man. If you compliment a woman about her weight loss it implies you thought she was "fat."

I've regretted it every time i've said something to a woman that wasn't very close to me...and the thing is...if people are really close to you they are less likely to notice because they see you more often and the process happens gradually.

You know and that is what matters most.
