Weight vs. Inches

I was just wondering what the motivations people have for fitness. It seems like most are solely motivated by the number on the scale, but I feel at this point in my life that it is based on how I look and feel. What are your motivations and reasons for the way you focus on your weight loss and goals.

I keep track of both to ensure I get a good picture of how my weight loss is coming.
  • I tend to follow the number on the scale because it's easier to see and to monitor on a regular basis. However, every few months, I check in on the inches, not to mention-- I've had to get some new clothes because the old ones don't fit any more.

The inches FEEL BETTER than the pounds, but the pounds are easier to watch, especially if you are just trying to focus more on weight loss instead of muscle tone just yet.

I go by photos. I don't like the scale, and changes in measurements are pretty minuscule at this point... who's gong to jump up and down over an eighth of an inch change?

How I feel, how I look (pictures), and inches... 100%. I could care less about the number on the scale or the size of my clothes as long as I feel healthy and strong, love how I look in pictures (objectively), and have a healthy overall body fat percentage.

I want it to take less time to shave my legs and I wanna dress like a slut and have more kinky crazy dress up sex in broad daylight on Sunday mornings.

I think inches mean more than weight. You can gain weight and reduce in size in many instances.

My fitness goals are mainly based on strength, stamina and achievement and that mindset helps me watch and balance my food intake
