this sounds like it's absolutely horrible for you.

The recipes posted here are for healthier, nutritious foods... not cakes loaded with sugar and trans-fats and chemicals. This cake sounds delicious, but the recipe for it belongs on another site - one that isn't about fitness and making healthy choices.

Assuming the math is right it is less than half the calories of the original version.

Apparently don't get in between people and their cake. Noted. Enjoy it I guess.

That's true. And I think it sounds reaaalllyyy tasty, and would make a great treat. I just feel like posting it on this site is a bit like putting a baskin robbins inside of a gym.

It's easy to find recipes for treats on any food blog.

Lighten up you ****s! Everything is healthy in the right quantity, even if that quantity is zero. A little slice of cake won't kill you or make you fat. Eating the whole thing will.

    This.

This *kitten* sounds awesome. I'd eat it.

You don't have to eat only vegetables for the rest of your life, you know.

blah blah, lifestyle change, blah blah, not a diet, blah blah, moderation, blah blah...you get the point....

    EAT ALL THE THINGS!!!!!!!

Everyone does realize that this section of the forums is called "Recipes", not specifically "Zero carb, zero calorie, zero fat meal ideas that I will probably try to always find something to criticize about because I'm feeling hormonal". And yes, MFP is primarily used for losing weight and eating healthily, but, once again, it doesn't specifically say what a person has to post about or what kind of things their recipe ideas should contain.

Who knows, this recipe may be a great idea for a treat once in a while, or some sort of special occasion. Stop being so quick to throw around negative comments and get on with your own choices. Me oh my. :indifferent:

A few people in this thread sound like they could use a slice of Butterfinger cake.

For 174 calories per serving, this sounds like an absolutely reasonable treat. Thanks for the recipe, OP! :)

Why would you even post this in a forum where people are trying to eat healthy and lose weight

What a stupid recipe. Box cakes usually have trans fat and every ingredient is basically crap. I don't get it.

    Long live the Queen!

    That sounds delicious.
Why would you post such negative comments on somebody's recipe? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that somebody else can't try it. Sorry that all of us are not organic vegans who eat next to nothing.

I agree with hiker! We all need a treat once in a while. Sounds like a great birthday cake!

I'm not a vegan, nor do I eat organic. I just question why high sugar, high calorie recipes are added, that is all.

Openmindedness: perhaps make the recipe for a birthday party. Not everyone's on a diet. Treating yourself now and then won't kill you either.

That's not how it's written, though. By that logic you'd use 12 cans of Diet Coke, and so on. Sounds like a good recipe but the 1/12 part doesn't make sense at all.

    yes, she wrote it wrong.
It is really the whole box of cake, ONE can of soda, and a serving is 1/12th of the cake.

It WAS written confusingly, but this is how it really is.

Given the fact that you use the whole box of cake mix. This changes the calorie count as follows based on 12 servings.

    Per Serving:

    422 Calories

    86 Carbs

    7 Fat

    4 Protein

    2 Fiber

So based on this count, so may reconsider making this. It's more than 1/3 of my daily calories so not doable for me, but others may enjoy it. Each to their own.

It's never good logic to reward weight loss with food especially when first beginning a new diet/fitness routine. A better suggestion is buy a new outfit or get a new haircut.

AGREED!! Why do people have to be so freakin rude?! There is no reason for that. If you don't have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all. Yeah, you could say you wouldn't eat this b/c of these factors and tell people that this is still high in carbs and may not be the best choice to eat this all the time, but everyone knows it's ok to have something once in awhile. Yeah, they could eat ice cream or make a homemade cake, but maybe they've done that, maybe they wanna try something different. Who gives a crap. As long as it's balanced with healthy eating and exercise who cares. This is a life change not something that can't work in the long run and if you take out all the "bad" stuff then MOST people would fall off the wagon b/c ppl like sweets, and sweets are ok in moderation. Get your panties out of a wad!!
