I had a horrible day today - almost 800 calories over my 136

Options
I went and weighed in tonight and I had lost 3 lbs. Then I have been eating ever since. I have not had a night like this since I started. I guess I just needed to get it out of my system and hopefully tomorrow will be another day. I feel bad, but I still need to keep in mind I lost almost 15 lbs since Jan. 17th. I got the stomach flu last Thurs and Fri, and I have not felt up to exercising the past few days. Tomorrow, I am going to have to do the 30 Day Shred and walk on my treadmill and get back on track. Wish me luck!!!!!!

It's ONE day. Remind yourself of this. It was ONE day. That's it. Just shrug it off, forgive yourself, and move on.

Good Luck on the 30 day Shred. I plan to buy it and start this week. I almost put next week but there is no time like the present:) Don't sweat your calories too bad today. You had a bad day not a bad week. Just pick up tomorrow.

I don't know whether you can view my diary or not,but I have had on average two bad days a week and still managed to lose 14 lbs in two months. Trust me every now and again isn't going to hurt anything. If it makes you feel better try to average out where you went over through the week. So if you went over maybe you could stay under your goal around 50 calories or so a day to make up for it.

Don't sweat it. I lost 2lbs last week and then got a dozen cupcakes with my husband at a bakery for free. Uh....YEAH!!! about 1000 calories over this past weekend. But, you realize it's ONE DAY!!! You move on and get back on track. It's a temporary weight, not a ball n' chain. :-)

Hey, I ate over 1800 calories OVER my already 1400 calories, and that is AFTER i added my exercise. So...over 2,000 over my daily goal. :)

Started again today fresh :) We're all going to slip up, but we just have to acknowledge it, not beat ourselves up over it, and continue on.

Ditto! I was sick last week and was over a minimum of 1000cals each day, a maximum of almost 3000cals one day. I'm just saying it was one week. Keep it moving

Learning to accept crummy days like this and moving on to do better tomorrow is a BIG part of this learning process. It's so easy to tell yourself "this just proves that I'm hopeless, I can never lose weight".
A much better message to yourself is "well, that wasn't very smart. How am I going to make tomorrow a good day?"
I have had some horrendous eating days in the 405 days that I've been logging my meals on MFP but in spite of that I'm maintaining my 22kg weight loss. My theory is that I just have to make sure that there are more good days than bad days, and I have to keep monitoring what I'm eating and my bad habits and try to stamp them out, one at a time.

I had a terrible week last week with just feeling completely buggered for the first 2 days and skipping 3 workouts. My food was crap although I was under my cal goal I just ate crap and didn't follow my plan. Made up for it in the last few days of the week with massive workouts and just used the first couple of days as my motivation to drag my *kitten* along to the gym and give it a flogging. One bad day isn't terrible. One average I give myself a cheat meal every wednesday night. It's been working for me. Pick your favourite food and eat it. Don't go stupid but enjoy it and don't worry about the cals. Shocks your body and gives you a boost knowing that you can still loose weight and enjoy life.

    Keep it up =]

Enjoy your day, lose the guilt, tomorrow is a new day. Once about every two weeks or less if I need it I have a blowout day. My best one I doubled my allowable calories and tripled my allowable sodium. The 5 week weight guess at the end of the day was enough to motivate me to stay on track for another couple of weeks.

It's just one day. We all have them. As long as you recognize that it is not how you want all your days to be and you strive to change them you are going in the right direction. :)

Oh hey! No worries! On my worst day I went over my calorie limit by 2,200. And you know what, I am not even mad or guilty about it now. What matters is that I keep working on my diet and exercise.

No worries, don't sweat it, there is always tomorrow!

Good luck on the 30 Day Shred. :)

As Ms Stacey once told Anne Shirley, "Tomorrow is fresh and new with no mistakes in it." (or pastries).

It may not be the best thing for your physical health (weight), but having one day to just treat yourself can do wonders for your mental health. Instead of being upset over going over your calorie limit, be happy that you can splurge once in a while and still make progress towards your goal! Working towards a weight goal shouldn't be a punishment, but a rewarding journey, and nothing says reward to me like a day of eating some of my favorite foods every once in a while!
