NSV from my doctor

I've always been into exercise, but not so much into diet. When I decided I needed to lose weight, not only did I start to examine what I eat, but I also changed my exercise. I use to do 45 minutes of cardio, and 45 minutes of weight lifting. That was changed to circuit weight training and interval cardio (and never on the same day).
My doctor has told me over and over I needed to lose weight. I've been 220+ for many years. I always told myself it was muscle and that I didn't need to lose weight. If you look at my profile picture, the "before" image is what opened my eyes that I needed to lose some serious fat.
I suffer from high blood pressure, high triglycerides, and low HDL cholesterol (the good kind).
Since mid December I've lost 20+ pounds. My new workout has also improved my endurance and recovery time, not to mention my RHR has gone from and average of 60 to an average of 50. But here is the biggest news:
- I've been taken off my blood pressure medication
- My triglycerides, which use to be 240 points too high is now 100 points below the high mark (a net change of 340 points).
- My HDL cholesterol is now in the normal range.
I can't tell you how excited I am right now after getting my test results back! I almost broke into tears. It's been years that I've been fighting all of these things, and now it looks like the battle is won. I can't think of any better motivation to continue to do what I'm currently doing; living healthy.

That is success! Congrats! So proud of you. I hope to get some good results too, I get labs next month. I am not so hopeful tho. I have very, very, very high cholesterol and have been on meds since i was a little girl. It never goes down even on the highest dose of meds but I have never worked out so hard before. Your great news is so encouraging! Happy Dance for S!!!!
Peace! :flowerforyou:0 -
