What to eat pre/post meals after workouts?

I was reading the other day on that its recommended to eat pre and post of your workouts.....but the sites that ive gone dont really specify WHAT to eat...what do you guys eat and/or drink?

    High carb/high protein is generally thrown out there. I don't put much emphasis on my pre workout meal as I do my post workout. I typically workout 1-2 hours following breakfast and follow it up with a protein shake. Really nothing else is going to replenish healthy carbs for energy and large amount of protein for you body to start repairing muscle asap.

    I've just read a lot how eating within 30 minutes of working out is best due to the body already operating very efficiently, it sends the meal where the body can use it rather than store it for later use which is good.
  • Carbs before, Protein after - the carbs give you energy to bust some *kitten*, the protein helps repair your muscles.
