Shin Splints

I have pretty much always had a issue with shin splints when I was running, now I'm doing the Insanity workout and get shin splints just form that. It is a lot of jumping and leg workouts but if my shins weren't in such pain I know I could push myself farther. I was wondering if anyone had any tips, tricks, stretches or anything that would be useful Thanks in advance! :D
