I always see people talk about the scale not moving.

Recently I under went some health issues. Unsure what was wrong or how serious. Numerous hospital visit and back and forth to many doctors. Everyone was stumped and had no idea what was going on. I decided I needed a change.

I started at about 300 lbs in November. I am now down to 274. I was down to 270 but for some reason I have gained 4 pounds and was kind of discouraged. I started the measuring sytem instead of weigh in system. To my surprise I see why I am gaining.

I have gained
1 inch in legs for each
1.5 inches in chest
My waist has stayed the same but can feel the muscles closer to top of skin.
.5 inch on each arm

I do areobic workout on stationary bike. I also started pushing some weights for muscle tone. I am happy with the results I am getting. I thought I would post this so others will keep in mind that scale is an evil mind control device.

Good luck everyone and keep up the great work.

Not that I'd suggest tossing out your scales but it's not the only measure of improved fitness - congrats on your progress!

If you don't already have one I'd suggest getting a heart rate monitor. With it you can make sure you're training in the appropriate zone and track your improvements in cardio fitness.

I use the one that is on the bicycle.
I know it may not be perfect but I don't read and hold the sensors for a better over all reading.
Thank you for the suggestion though.
