Hypersensitivity to Medications Theory

Hello folks!

I just joined last week to prove a theory, however, I'm finding this site and information fascinating! I am recommending it to everyone I know who wants to keep track of their health.

I am still recovering from Cushing's syndrome and am in my 4th year post-op from an adrenalectomy. The tumor caused me to gain almost 80lbs. I still need to peel off 45-55lbs to get back to "normal." Now I have been a health-fanatic for more than 20 years and never had an issue in maintaining a very healthy weight until I got really ill in 2006. So this is frustrating... The weight was coming off very slowly until I had to be put on heart medication for acute tachycardia in the late summer of 2010... Then, my weight went back up almost 10lbs more and won't budge!

I was on a lot of medications due to my illness and it's damages, but have gotten off all the daily meds but a couple. The only med I take now that lists weight gain as a possible side effect is the heart medication, Toprol XL... I truly believe that this medication is KEEPING the excess weight on me and I'm out to prove it. I'm well known to be hypersensitive to a lot of medications and have gained 30-75+lbs off of certain ones. So this theory of mine is valid...

Has anyone used Toprol and did you notice any side effects or weight gain?

Thanks!
