Not always black and white.

I see a lot of people give those who consume less than 1200 calories a day a ton of grief. I agree that people need to avoid doing things that are unhealthy in order to lose pounds. But I wish people would be a bit kinder and understand that not everything, including nutritional needs, are always black and white. I have a form of muscular dystrophy and my physician has instructed me to eat considerably less than 1000 calories a day in order to facilitate any type of weight loss. Sometimes reading the blanket, spoken as gospel, and often condescending, is hurtful. Just sayin

Do what you gotta do girl!! You are right, people try to pigeon hole on here all too often. Everyone's journey is unique to them. We come to the forums for advice from people with like experiences, but do not nee do to be berated for what we know(or may not know) is best for our individual selves.0

I agree with you to a certain degree. When calorie limits are suggested by a reputable doctor for valid medical reasons that's one thing and that should not be met with angry people spouting off about too low caloric intake.
However, far too many times do people post that they eat 900 calories to speed up their weight loss. Personally I think that is just plain stupidity. People here want to help others and when someone openly posts that they are drastically lowering their caloric intake to speed up weight loss people should share medical information and opinions to better inform that person that their intake is not healthy.0 -

Where as this may be true, people can offer advice or knowledge without being rude, hateful and condescending. I've seen it a lot on these forums. We are not children and don't expect to be talked to as such. I think just some common courtesy and a little cooth when explaining something to someone would make it so much better.0 -
Agreed, no one should be rude, etc.
Stating facts, opinions and such can be done without being rude. However, you also get the rude comments from those who are posting and are looking for answers but don't like the ones they have been given because they don't mesh with what they wanted to hear - even though the advice given was done so without being rude, etc.0 -
