My son got a wii for Christmas and I'm thinking about getting a wii fit board and games. Are they worth buying? I work 2 jobs and some days don't have the time to go to a gym to workout, but I thought having this available to get some quick workout time in between jobs might be beneficial. Thoughts??

Wii Fit is "OK'... but if you want a decent workout get the EA Active series! They have 30 and 60 day challenges and really keep you moving. Wii Fit stinks in that it is not continuos exercise... you have to stop in between to change things etc...
Gold's Gym Cardio Workout is good as well (you can get it cheap on Amazon)0 -
I've heard about those other games. Do those need the board or can i just get the game?0

I prefer Ea Active 2 for a real workout. Wii Fit is more "fun" games. It has some nice balance exercises, but I didn't find any of it to give me much of a workout.0

You can use the board if you have it... but you don't need it. I never use it and I have them both.0

Bump ..... for ideas
I got a Wii for Christmas. Exerbeat is fun. Starts off slow as you build points, then you pick longer "workouts" it has Karate, Boxercising, Hip Hop & Latin Dance (I suck at), and yoga ...... maybe you could "rent" this at a video store.
Balance board is just for yoga (optional).
Redbox has Just Dance 3 for rent ..... I didn't see anything else.0 -

EA Active 2 does not need the board. If you have it, you can use it with the game, but i don't use mine because i found it to go into "sleep" mode too much, interrupting the game in the process.0 -
I have the Wii fit and I love it they have running games and bike riding games too0

I love my Wii fit. I got it 2 years ago for Christmas, and the first month I had it I worked out with it daily and lost 13 lbs. It was January in Wisconsin and I couldn't afford a gym membership, so it was a great compromise.
Boxing was probably my favorite thing. I loved the yoga too though because I'm very inflexible and embarrassed to do yoga in a class, so I could have the wii fit correct me when my balance was off and learn to do yoga on there.
The only thing that ticks me off is that my kids never have the wiimotes recharged, so when I go to use it, they are always dead. By the time they are charged, I'm out of that mode.0
