Probably not. What weight loss goal did you tell MFP? What activity level did you tell it? You are small but I bet you could still be successful at 1400 plus exercise calories.

I said sedentary. I am abroad and walk to classes and everywhere, I just don't want to say lightly active if it's not. I listed my goal as 120.

If you are only 5 ft then yeah, that's probably correct net calories. But everyone is different. You must understand that this site just gives general recommendations. If it's not working for you, tweak it till it does.

If you really want to know what your caloric intake should be daily, you need to know your BMR and TDEE. Your BMR is the calories your body needs just to survive. The TDEE is your BMR plus your daily activities that doesn't include exercise. Go to:

    Or

Of course is is my opinio only, I never eat back my exercise calories. Hope this helps you girl!! :)
  • I agree with the 1200. It gave me the same goal but an average day for me doesn't usually total that. Personally, I think that is fine. In the winters I have a pretty sedentary life and really do not feel I should eat that much, especially if I don't get to the gym. I'm only 5'2 and gain very easily.

Sounds right to me. Mine is set at 1330 and I'm 5'8" trying to lose a pound a week.

Why not find out the TDEE for your target weight, and eating to that if you only have a few lb left to lose.

It will take a little longer but you'll be used to eating that and won't need to change your cas when you get to goal.
