Just looking for similarities - I'm 18 and and am working on a 9 week couch-to-5K plan. I'm new to MFP and could use support from any age or lifestyle, though!

  • Same here! I am 18 too and am going to run a half marathon in two months! I am going to college in the fall too and it is 10 minutes from the beach so I am with you on not gaining the freshman 15. Add me!

Though I'm not as youthful as the both of you ;) (I'm 27) I too am trying to train for a 5k with my sister this summer! Not even sure how to go about it but have been doing my research! I'd love the support! I'll add you both :)

Not nearly as youthful but started running last April using C25K. Ran my first half marathon in January and have two more coming up this Spring along with several shorter races.

CynthiaElise, look into Couch to 5K. It's a great program that's designed to take a non-runner and enable her to run a 5K in 9 weeks. It's one of the favorites here in MFP-land because it's so successful.
