Hi! I'm new to this site, I just joined today, but I am already liking it :)

I am in my late 20s, and have been overweight for quite some time. After reading the inspirational stories of "real" people, I finally received the jolt I needed to start this journey. I don't want to "diet", I don't believe they work. I want to change my lifestyle. I want a healthier, happier me. I want to enjoy life, and give my children happy memories of an involved Mom... not a fat Mom. I have approximately 80lbs to lose, that will bring me down to the 130s. I'm past nervous, I'm excited! It's time to get my butt in gear.

    Hi HodderAL,

i'm new today too. i am 50 and have been overweight for ten years since a back injury. My goal is to lose 60 pounds. i am down two so far :) i want to be an active grandma. i have two grand babies. i am starting with slim fast to help but plan to just stop putting so much in and find something else to occupy my depressed time of wishing i would lose this weight. Time to do something about it. i wish you lots of luck in your journey of success to 80 Lbs!
  • Hi! I'm Renee. I'm 35, but will be 36 in 4 weeks on March 29th. I've been overweight for 11 years after dealing with depression, miscarriages, and other issues. I've been dealing with digestive problems for 2 years now and I'm done. I decided to try this site from a recommendation of a friend. I am really liking this site so far. I just started the 21 detox from Martha's Vineyard detox diet. I chose to do the 7 day version to see how well I can be disciplined. I have to say I'm doing well and have lost 5 pounds on it so far. I feel great and I'm not in pain, do not have bloating or anything else I've been dealing with. After this detox is over, I'm going to start the 6 week body makeover. My goal is to lose between 70 and 80 pounds. Thanks for reading. Have a blessed Wednesday!

Thanks ladies for the encouragement! I am sure we can all achieve our goals. I believe mindset has alot to do with it too, and I'm determined!

O2bethin, you can do it! One day at a time :)

RCKWeddings, I understand where you're coming from. I'm an emotional eatter, who loves to eat! Food was my comfort. I'm filling that void with exercise now. I tried one "diet" plan, years ago, and have been suffering with health issues ever since. I can relate to your digestive issues :( I'm only on day 3, but so far so good! I plan to just change my habits, change my way of eatting through education on nutrition and then sweat it out with exercise!

    We can do this! :)
  • I'm new too ... signed up about 4 months ago, but apparently wasn't ready -- now I am!

I'm 36, and have a LOT of weight to lose, but one pound at a time, and I'll make it. I've been heavy all my life, so really don't know anything different than what I've always done. I'm determined, though to make it work this time.

Feel free to "friend" me, I need all the motivation & support I can get. Thanks!!

I love seeing that word; 'excited'. It's that feeling that will keep you motivated. I can assure you, while you can lose it for various reasons, I can attest to the fact that the "excitement" doesn't have to go away. I still am very excited about my weight loss (and health growth) journey ...

And I'm excited for you :)
