Skinny fat

Hey, I don't post much on this but just a quick question if you could help. I'm 5'11" and 152ish lbs. would like to go down to 145 but atm anyway I'm slim but not toned. I do a lot of running and that but how do I get away from this skinny fat stage? This probably sounds silly but is it more diet or just sit ups and squats and the like? Cos I don't think cardio alone is going to do the trick. Any help would be appreciated. March is my month to kick some butt so I'm willing to do the hard work.. Just need to know what that work is first :)

    Its both, a mixture of a clean diet, weights, and cardio will benefit you.
    Theres also more to strengthening your core than sit ups haha. :P
