Hey everyone. My name is Mason. I'm 18 years old, 6'2" and 278lbs. I haven't talked to many people on myfitnesspal yet, but I realize that a huge part of weight loss is through people. The social aspect of weight loss can help lose those extra pounds that you can't seem to do yourself. I don't have any friends on here yet, but I'd like to encourage you to find a random person, and compliment them. It can really bring up a person's self-image if they know other people have their back. Having support from someone, even if it's someone they don't know, can give them the extra push to be successful. And let's face it, people today have a very negative self-image. Everywhere they turn they are told that skinny is better. Especially women. As a guy, I realize the pressures that we men put on women. I myself am attracted to thin women. It's not by choice, but simply an act of nature. You can't force attraction. I realize how shallow I may seem for feeling this way and being overweight myself. But my goal on this site, is to better myself, and help others along the way. If you are having troubles, and need some encouragement, I'll be here to help in whatever way I can.

Mate sounds like you've got your eye on the price. I'm in a similar position, especially with fitness programmes primarily targeted at female audiences.

Feel free to add me if you like, it always helps to have another voice shouting encouragement!

    Cheers
