Grandma is trying to get in shape

I am a 65 year old great grandmother of three, grandmother of 8, mother of two, wife of one.
Before I had a problem with weight, I THOUGHT I was fat. (I look back on those pictures with envy now.) I could blame my weight problems on a myriad of things, but bottom line it comes to choices. I have had great success with Weight Watchers on three different occasions. However, I get within 30 pounds of my goal and hit a solid brick wall and eventually give up. This time, I have chosen to join a gym and not spend money on the food program but instead on healthy food. I am also part of an online book study/support group. I am hoping this combination will help.Even during my active years I was somewhat sedentary.
My first goal is to get below 200 pounds. Second goal, weigh less than my husband. Third goal, move from obese to overweight.
Why I Want To Get In Shape
To get healthier. I want to be able to get down on the floor and play with my grandchildren and great grandchildren. I want to be able to walk, run or hike with the older ones. I want to be able to clean my house without having to stop and rest every few minutes. I want to weigh less than my husband who is 6 inches taller than I.
