Hi all.
I am in my 9th week of my lifestyle change program. I set myself a goal to lose 45kgs (99lb) in 52 weeks and so far have achieved 8.5kg lost in just under 9 weeks. I am hoping to be 10kg down at the end of my 10th week. That would mean i would have achieved almost 25% of my loss goal in 20% of the time period I set.
To keep this up and build on the success I have started exercising to create a greater calorie deficit. This raises a couple of questions for me about minimum calorie intake per day, etc.
I hope there are some people out there that can answer the questions I have.
1. If I set a target of 1500 cal for a day and do enough exercise to burn 500 calories in that day with the balance being under 1200 does that create any problem with starvation mode setting in? Should I still be aiming for food less exercise to come to 1500 calories?
2. If I have a very low calorie day of 800 calories (with food intake only and no exercise) but the average across the 7 days of the week is 1500 does the one extremely low calorie day create a problem?
Thanks for any guidance you can provide.
