Hello everyone out there...I ran across myfitnesspal and from what I can see so far, it seems like a very positive community and a great weight loss resource! :happy:
I want to drop some weight before my 30th birthday which is in two months...I am setting a goal of 10 lbs and am going to try hard to acheive it!

Hi, and welcome to THE best site on the web!
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off!
Also, drink lots of water, that seems to help alot too. :drinker:0 -
WOW! Thank You for the warm welcome! I really LOVE the food and exercise logs...I have been logging all of my calories and exercise info in a notebook (so stoneage...I still log everything in just as a back up...I really Love the tools...I even took my measurements (YIKES) :laugh:

Hi again. I never bothered taking my measurements, but, I know that alot of them do here.
I weigh in once a week, on Tuesdays. I call it "FAT Tuesday"! :laugh:
I've pretty much been juggling the same 5 pounds since January! I'll lose a few, find em again, lose em again, etc.! :laugh: Thanks to MFP, I'm pretty much right where I want to be anyway, but, I'd still like to lose a few more to have alittle leeway, since I LOVE food so much! :laugh:0 -
Wow! Mondays are my weigh in days! "Fat Tuesday" I like that! :drinker:
I hear ya' on the loving food part....my weakness is starches...I LOVE bread, pasta, potatoes....the list goes on! Wow! you've been maintaining since January! that's great! I hope that when I finally get to goal I will be able to maintain...I think maintaining is easier than losing!
Well, day three on my diet and I'm doing really well...this site makes it so easy and it's pretty fun logging on here too0 -
I'm new myself. I really like the site. I just figured out my goal weights by month and that's as eye-opening as logging my food. If you log ahead of time, you just might change your mind about your choices, that's for sure. Welcome and enjoy!!0
