Lower Carbs Makes me Feel GREAT

So a few years ago I was advised by my doctor to go on a low carb diet and cut out startches except for once a week or so because I had a fatty liver. I thought this was crazy but did it anyway... and lost 30 or so pounds, my liver went back to normal, and I felt great. Fast forward a bit and I thought that since my liver was better, I'll just eat what I want again. WRONG. Liver went back to fatty, I felt like crap, and I gained my weight back.
You may think I'm crazy, but I think my body just doesn't like carbs... because whenever I over indulge, I feel like crap. So I decided that I'll go back to a low carb, high protein diet, BUT make sure to have my fiber EVERYDAY. (I missed this one time I ate like this and it wasn't good.....)
I've had a few good things happen. My BP has dropped back down to where it should be, my anxiety attacks have gotten less severe and also do not happen as often, I have more energy, and I feel "cleaner". I was also told my liver is once again back to normal. No, I haven't lost weight yet, but it took a few days for me the last time to start dropping, so I'm being patient on that end.
I think I'm just accepting the fact that for some reason I can't over indulge in carbs except for the occasional splurge. I'm sure I can get used to it, so long as it keeps me healthy.

Thank you for posting that! Everyone around me thinks I'm crazy for sticking to a low-carb diet, but it works for me too. I had tried Atkins several years ago and lost 60 pounds. I went off and gained 80 pounds. I started again a few weeks ago and I am down almost 20 pounds. I feel vibrant! I'm never really hungry and I have zero cravings. I know I'm truly hungry when I begin to feel fatigued. When that happens I eat a small chunk of chicken breast and literally within minutes my energy level zooms back up. For me there is no other lifestyle than low-carb.0
