I don't want to spend 14 dollars on a whole jar in case we don't like it. Anyone know where I can get a small quanity either online or somewhere in Ontario Canada?

You'll like it. If you buy the refined it has no flavor at all. Great for higher temp cooking and sauteeing. Much lower smoke temp than olive oil. It doesn't "spoil" either, like olive oil and other vegetable oils.
I put it on my skin and hair as well.
Sorry, no idea where to get it cheaper. Try Amazon Canada.0 -
if you don't' end up liking it, use it as a moisturizer at night for your skin, it's the greatest!!!0

This is actually part of why I want to try it. I'm tired of soap killing my skin. My husband thinks I'm weird though.0 -

Totally agree with this! If you get the refined or virgin oil it has no coconut taste at all. I use it every day for cooking and love it!0 -
If you can get the Nutiva brand Organic Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil, it is SO delicious! It smells wonderfu, too. It takes just a tiny bit in the pan to saute food and adds little or no flavor. In the summer, when it liquifies, I use it as a moisturizer and sunscreen.0

That's not weird at all! I always have coconut oil, but have never cooked with it! I use it as a facial moisturizer, a lotion, and I'll put it on my hair the night before I wash it. It's not a heavy oil at all and I've used it in both dry and high humidity climates and it works great! There's plenty of other people who use for beauty (even my husband uses it! shhh )
ETA - also, a little goes a long way when using it on your face, so I'd say it's worth the money for sure0 -
To consume or moisturize with?0

you should be able to buy it at most grocery stores, but you'll find your best bet will be if you're town has an Asian Market or specialty food store (that's where I go and find that it's half the price then the health food store right up the street for the exact same product). If you have a Zhers or other large grocery chain with an Ethnic food section, you'll find it there too.0

Started using EVCO about a month ago and absolutely love it! 1 to 2 tbsp is great for boosting your metabolism a little (it's been proven to do that), and it's also a natural aid in fat burning. I use unrefined, because I want the coconut flavor -- love frying sirloin strips in it, for instance.0
