Hello, I recently started having a problem with finishing my meals and losing my appetite while eating. Last night I made a taco salad; lettuce, tomatoes, ground beef, sour cream, salsa and cheese, by the time I was only halfway through I just didn't feel like eating it.

Just this morning, I made scrambled eggs and italian sausage. I ate less than half of the eggs and about half the sausage and then I just didn't feel like eating anymore. I sometimes have a weird issue where I gag on food, often times it's eggs, for no reason.

I just want this to go away, I need to eat full meals!

I have the same problem. Unfortunately I haven't been able to stop it. I'll often feel 'done' after just a couple of bites, but in my case I know it's a mental thing. I usually just have to take my time and do my best to eat everything I've measured out.

You might just try eating smaller meals for awhile. Instead of three big meals and a snack, eat 6 small meals at regular intervals throughout the day. For example, if you're eating 1500 calories, have six 250 calorie meals at 7:00, 10:00, 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 8:00. A "meal" doesn't have to be a big production, either. It can be a granola bar or a salad or a veggie omelet or a tuna sandwich with carrot sticks.

yeah, maybe splitting your meals up would be a good idea - definitely don't get married to the vision that the concept of 'dinner' has to mean you eat a certain type of meal and amount. i usually eat dinner this way even though it gets logged as all one meal. i'll eat half of it, putter around for a couple of hours, finish the rest before bedtime. my daytime 'meals' definitely just look like disparate ingredients of stuff; i don't do well eating big chunks during the day so it's a lot of (controlled) grazing. just make sure you're getting a balanced range of macros and nutrients in.
