Is this supposed to hurt...

I am on day 7 of Jillian Micheal's 30DS. As of Monday my right knee really started to hurt, my left not so much. I am thinking it is the lunges. Is there a way to modify a lunge, or do something in place of it? Should I lay off the workout until the knee feels better? I just don't want to longterm hurt myself, but I really don't want to stop bc then I might never start back. Any advice is appreciated!

Jillian's workouts are very tough on the knees. The best way to take some of the impact off is to not go as deep into the movements. You may want to give your knees a couple of days off, then get back to it! If you are truly hurting, you need to heal!0

when you lunge forward forward ensure your heel on tne front foot touches the floor first rather than the whole foot, this should drive the force through the heel rather than knee!0

or do a reverse lunge instead.
Stand with both feet shoulder width apart, look straight ahead.
Move the left leg back, ensuring that leg lands on the toes.
Lunge until your upper leg on the front let is parallel with the floor. (Don't go further than this)
Reverse the movement so that both feet are back to shoulder width.0
