Hi All- I have had a problem lately, after washing my shirts there is still white deodorant in the armpits. I can put Shout on them, rewash, still there, does not want to come out. I have used the same deodorant since High School. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone know what works to get it out? THANKS!

Could it possibly be sweat stains?

A friend of mine uses a pumice stone and rubs the areas where the deodorant is "stuck", have you tried vinegar or baking soda?

Sorry, no. Really just on my everyday clothes, oddly enough, not on my workout shirts. It is white deodorant, not sweat.

I was just wondering that, the brand could be really oily hence it not washing off through a normal cycle.

The stains are caused by the reaction between anti-perspirant ingredients and the salts in your sweat. Most anti-perspirants contain aluminum compounds to reduce wetness. It is the aluminum that causes the build-up and yellowing on the shirts...Mine looks like just deoderant also which it is but its sweat also... Try washing and soaking it in vinegar. I get it all the time myself. Usually I just toss the shirt out over time

Yea thats what I thought at first but then she stated she been using the same kind since highschool. So unless they made changes in their product its prob not it. Maybe your detergent (if you have changed that recently) is the problem?

My mom taught me to soak them in cold water with baking soda (1 box) and white vinegar (half of a med bottle, I think). I soaked a bunch of shirts in a tub. Then after they have soaked for a decent amount of time then scrub the stains with powdered dishwasher soap. Then wash and dry like normal.

I think you can google to find out how much of the ingredients you are supposed to use for sure. It really did help, I have the same problem along with odor and yellow stains. This worked great on them.

No, I usually wait until AFTER I work out to freshen up. Not a lot of people smelling my balls during a work out.

It is because you use an anti-perspirant. My husband and I both use "deodorant" without the aluminum compounds. It is much healthier for your body, and doesn't leave residue or discoloration on your clothing.

I've got to disagree, I used to use deodorant, and it left discolouration on my clothing. My anti-perspirant doesn't though. But, it could all just depend on the deodorant / anti-perspirant.

Deoderant does not work for me... I don't have BO and have no issues with it. But if I use deoderant I will start to notice a smell (if i do a smell test):explode: half way into my day.. So no go with that stuff for me..
