Hi, I am Tracy and I am married with (03) babies....Okay, Luke is not a baby, he's three, but the twins are 8 months old (Lilliana and Isabella). I was on bed rest during pregnancy and had strict orders to lay on the couch, ABSOLUTELY NO PHYSICAL activity, and eat as much as possible!!!! (Sounds fun, huh?) The goal was to gain weight as my babies were small - Isabella was way behind in weight and eventually the girls had to be delivered at 43 weeks. After a three week stay in the NICU for Isabella, who weighed only 2.10 lbs, and two week stay for Lilliana who weighed 3.11 lbs the girls came home and they thrived!!! Everyone is now extremely healthy.... everyone but me and my husband (Yes, the husband gained weight too!)) - we put on a lot of extra lbs! Although I had a difficult time gaining weight during pregnancy, I found myself with an outrageous appetite after the girls were born. And, to top it off, i had no energy at all. Between the 2 hour feedings around the clock (breastfeeding/bottle feeding and pumping breastmilk) i was exhausted with NO ENERGY!!!! I will be 40 in April, I kept telling myself...I am too old for all of these babies (LOL)...WE NEEDED A CHANGE!!!!

I did not think change was possible due to the demands of motherhood and working full-time. My husband wanted to join the gym again. I thought...what a waste of money...i'll be able to go once a week, maybe, if I'm lucky!!! But, he persisted and we joined the last week of last 2011. My husband also used MFP a while back and told me about it (it was while I was pregnant and trying to gain weight)...I didn't think twice about it then, but decided to give it a try. So, that's how we started January 1, 2012...using MFP and being gym members!

Funny thing is....Although I have never been a morning person....6 months of waking at all hours of the night to feed two babies, has made a huge difference....so many times I wanted to be that person who got up in the morning and worked out or just got to work on time.... I give the babies all the credit for this change! I now get up at 4:30 to hit the gym before work. After two weeks of working out I felt so good, I signed up for a 10K and have been training the last 6 weeks or so for a March 31st race.

Currenly I have lost 10 lbs, which is not a lot, but I am so encouraged. I think the difference this time is that at almost 40, I have finally become an adult! I can get up when i want to, i don't drink too much, I make healthier food choices. It feels good to set a great example for my family!
