Hey all! My son is an incredibly picky eater and I want this to change but I'm finding myself at a loss of what to put in his lunches. Please share any great healthy things you put in your kids lunches! :) I feel guilty giving him crap when we're eating super healthy!

reduced fat peanutbutter and bananas on a whole wheat tortilla
yogurt parfait with fresh fruit and garnola
baked tortilla chips with salsa, chicken reduced fat cheese, and tomatos
sometimes I just pack my daughter a bunch of little things (fruit, yogurt, reduced fat string cheese, celery with peanutbutter, veggies with fat free ranch)

Those all sound great to me... unfortunately, it's a peanut free school because of allergies and he won't touch salsa or ranch dressing. I'm ready to pull my hair out! How do I get him to give stuff a chance?! He takes a bite from the end of a spoon and he's already convinced himself he won't like it so the immediate response is: "ewwwwwww" or "I don't like that!" Grrrrrrr LOL

Maybe this is my payback for overeating... I have a son who eats barely anything! LMAO!

My kids like nutella sandwiches as a switch from PB&J. I have also been known to heat up the inside of a thermos with very hot water while I microwave leftovers from the night before, (then dump water and fill with very hot leftovers),it stays warm until lunchtime that way.

Hi there. I understand peanut free schools as my daughter has a severe nut allergy..no peanut butter in the house for me either!! Both of my children used to be very picky too. We started with trying new things as after school snacks and even at the dinner table, used a reward chart and they got lots of encouragement whenever they tried something new. Of course they didn't always like the new "Healthy" things, but I kept trying. Once they found some new foods that they liked, I would incorporate it into their lunch box. Cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, carrot sticks, blueberries, strawberries (lots of fruit/veg). My son even likes cottage cheese now. Who would have thought.
Must admit though, they still love a good old sandwich..which is ok...because I add lots of little bits and pieces into their lunch box as well.
    Good luck, and keep trying.
Feel free to add me if you like.
