Hi...
I ve one question regarding the calorie burnt being shown .
i am using GPSWalk on my android . it is directly link with my weight and accurately records the distance i am running, time and speed and then shows me the calorie burnt. last night , i did a run for 8.65 km in 1:16:09 time at an avrg speed of 4.35 miles/hr.
this gives me a reading of 1997 cal burnt.
now when i entered the same on MFM it gave me a burnt of 1144 .
i am confused which one is correct.
my current weight is 89.1 kg.
pl help.

Wish I could help you. Does your ap have a heartrate moniter on it? If it does, I'd say go with that.0

yes it does but still how can be this much difference0 -
Wow, I've never burnt 1900 cals running, even when I've run 21km in training for a half marathon. This doesn't sound right to me.
My usual estimate is around 10 cals per minute, so if I run for 76 mins I would expect to burn somewhere around 760 cals or so.
Or, another way that I've seen to estimate cals burnt is 100 cals per mile - so that would be somewhere around 600 cals.
Weight does make a difference, but those numbers still sounds too high to me. I find that Runkeeper on my iPhone sometimes loses it's GPS signal and jumps 2 or 3 km away then finds me again so it looks as though I've run 15km instead of 10 (for example). This kind of thing can really throw out your numbers.
I would go with MFP numbers in this instance or even less (maybe 12 x your minutes - 912).0 -
