So something happened to my hip today while working out. You know when you're running and land on your foot kinda wrong and feel it in your ankle? ... kinda like that but at my hip; I was doing plyometrics.

It only hurt briefly but I can still feel a little discomfort.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I should be doing anything about it. Should I walk, rest, stretch ... all or none of the above?

I would suggest ice and rest. Is there a particular move that hurts?

try stretching, if that is painful, quit, if you can, ice it, rest it, and try some ibuprofen for the pain and swelling...best to you always, Rick

How do you know if your hip is swollen? Mine are well insulated.

lol I think you would be better feeling for tenderness in a specific area rather than swelling.

Haha, yeah it's tender. I'll be doing a thorough stretch to explore it more.

My daughter pulled her gluteus medius this year while running in PE She could not lay on her side and lift her leg up. The doctor and physical therapist both had her ice her hip, take aleve and gave her a bunch of rehab exercises to do. It took 2 months to get her off the crutches, hopefully yours feels better than that.

Oh, and they made her heat the area for 10 minutes with a moist heating pad before exercising to make sure the area was nice and warm and ready to move. and ice for 10 minutes after to keep inflammation down.

Hope you feel better, if not go see your doctor. :flowerforyou:

Oh it only hurt for a few minutes, like when you twist your ankle .. but it was just tender after that.

The stretch went well. I noticed that during barre work ... when I had to rest on my right leg with my left on the barre ... the right hip was burning, like when you're lifting weights. But the floor stretch when you're sitting crossed legged and you walk your hands forward and to the either side ... my hip was sensetive during the parts that stretched my right hip.

Anyway, I'll probably take some ibuprofen before bed. Thanks for the input!
