So I have been borderline overweight for the past several years.. most of the weight I have now, I gained within the last few years due to stress from college, moving ( A LOT ) and the occasional injury here and there.

I have gotten to a point in my academic career where I'm about to lose my financial aid, without which I couldn't have gone to college without it these past 5 years. Unfortunently, I have at least 2-4 more years left if I keep plugging away the way that I am.

So I decided to enlist in the Navy... only problem... I needed to lose about 72 pounds!! =/

I started as of January 4th, 2012 at 231 pounds, at the age of 22 and I'm only 5' 5" (barely). And I am sitting at (at last measurement) 48% body-fat.

I joined MFP shortly after a visit with my doctors and have since dropped 16 pounds since I started on here...just through switching over and doing the basics... Working out at least 3-4 days a week and actually keeping track of my calories. (Thinking back on what I used to eat, on average per day, while it was generally healthy, I was consuming in the neighborhood of 2000+ calories!! And that was on top of very little to no workouts!)

I have until July 5th to be at 160pounds and, or, within the 33% body fat range.

As of March 1st, 2012 I weigh 214 pounds, have lost 4inches off my waist & 2inches off my hips... Which is way better then I had expected!

I have met a lot of awesome people on here & would love to gather more information and tips or even pass along some of the great stuff I've learned! Its amazing what little overlooked things can do to impact your weight-loss!
