My main question is why do you want to go that low, you'd be underweight at that weight.0

I'm 5ft6 and I don't really want to go bellow 150. 110 seems awfully small to me!0 -
Yes, that seems quite low -
According to your height of 5' 5" your ideal healthy weight is 134 pounds. Your recommended weight range is between 119 and 149 pounds.
You will be very underweight - your health may suffer. Hopefully you'll re-evaluate.0 -

my lowest weight was 130 lbs and was still fat. trust me. even people still called me fat. and all my friends are the same height as me and around 110 lbs and looking great and sexy.0 -
can somebody PLEASE tell me are my goals realistic or not, instead of judging me0

It's doable. I think you should aim for 115-120 to be a bit healthier looking. But it's your body, do what makes you happy.0

Maybe try some strength training? Sometimes people don't necessarily need to lose a ton of weight, they just need to decrease their body fat percentage and they'll look a ton better. It's not necessarily about a specific number (honestly, for me if I have a number in my head I'm never satisfied when I hit that number - it's all about how I look and feel and being healthy).0 -

I agree with the above quote. From your figures I'd say you should just focus on toning and how your body looks. Don't worry about the weight - look at the areas of your body you are unhappy with and research ways to tone up those areas. Exercise and diet will of course be important and everyone here can help you a lot with improving specific areas of diets and exercise.
I've improved my diet and exercised daily for around 1 week and a half and I already feel so much better for it. A lot of it is in the mind. A lot of people would love to be your size, much in the same way you aspire to be the size of other people around you. Don't let them define you or your goals.0 -
It would be really tough to lose that amount of weight in 7 months because that's an average of 1.7 lbs a week at a constant rate. As you lose weight, the weight loss each week slows down. It's a great goal to strive for though and definitely possible if you work really hard0

They aren't judging you, they are telling you that your goal is unhealthy. However, I agree that it's your body so at the end of the day it's your choice not anyone else's. Another user (or users) have mentioned weight training to lower your body fat percentage which is a great idea, you might find the reason why you were "fat" (I use quotation marks since I obviously don't know what you looked like etc) was possibly (once again I'm assuming things) because of a bad diet/lack of exercise therefore resulting in you having less muscle and more fat, it would be worth trying weight training since nothing ventured nothing gained right?
Edit: In answer to your original question, you want to lose 48lb in 7months, which would potentially be possible if you could continuously lose nearly 2lbs a week, but (as I've seen over the forums) a lot of people say the less weight you have to lose the slower it becomes so don't become disheartened if you don't hit 48lbs in that time frame0 -

Yes, it is achievable providing you eat correctly and you will need to exercise too otherwise it might be a bit slow.0 -

Possibly. But I'm not encouraging unhealthy behavior.
And anyone who told you that you were fat at 130lbs is an *kitten* and not someone you should have in your life.
If you wish to change body composition my advice would be to look into lifting heavy weights. It will give you an amazing body even at 130lbs.0 -
and for everybody going on and on about the OP being unhealthy at 110lbs or underweight, 110lbs at 5 foot 5 inches tall is the lightest she should be before bordering on underweight, that is "bordering" by the way, not "severely" or "unhealthily anorexic" or "should be hospitalised" - 110lbs is nowhere near those things lol.0
-
i reccommend starting strength training ASAP check out the new rules of lifting for women. don't severely restrict your calories, try to stick to about 80% clean foods and 20% of whatever else you'd like with the proper effort put into strength training, even if you don't get as low as 110lbs, you will look amazing!0
-
Not realistic. Whether or not you can or should get to 110, you will certainly not get there losing 2 lbs/week once you're down that low. But as some folks said, you can surely get part of the way, and you will look better, so do what you can and good luck.0
-
I don't have experience with this myself, but this is what I've seen and heard from my MFP friends. How much you lose depends on how dedicated you are to your diet, cardio, and strength training. However, once you get down to those last 10-20 pounds, it can be very difficult to lose that weight quickly. So while in theory, you could lose that weight if you lose 2 lbs. a week. But in reality, it probably won't be that easy or that quick. You have to account for plateaus, which do happen, and the slowing of weight loss as you get closer to your goal. Or so I've heard.0

last I heard a bmi of 18.5 was the lowest for 'healthy' and that corresponds to less than 114lbs. your friends might be those really thin-framed people like my friend is.
7 months is 28 weeks which is roughly 2 pounds a week... that is hard to achieve, and not really possible once you reach the lower end of your goal. (as someone else has said). so give yourself more time to lose it, and expect to be losing 1lb or less per week as you get closer to your goal.
Also, don't fixate on 110... toning your muscle might result in more weight, but you will still look great.
I do try to stay above 18% body fat and above a bmi of 18.5.0 -

On paper it may be realistic, but our bodies don't always act the way the paper graph says, so it's probably not.
2lb per week will be achievable some weeks, but not all, and if you are the type to get hung up on numbers failing to achieve the 2lb may get you so dissapointed that you give up.0 -
I"m 5'5" and I got down to a112 pounds and it was HARD. My body did not want to do it. Also, everyone thought I had an eating disorder.0

I am 5'5'' and current;ly at 130. I want to get to 125 but iIplan to do it through strength training rather than just fat loss, which probably means i'll look 125 but weight 130 or more. Look into lifting, you are probably "skinny fat" like me.0

thank you all for your asnwers,i'll try to do more strenght trainings
and i'll do my best and hope to see results0 -
I am 5"5 115, aiming for 110 (the weight I formerly was). Though in saying that, I am EXTREMELY fine boned, so weight looks a lot more dramatic on me than other girls who are my height.0

Holy ****!!!!!!!!!!!! Right, what's your body frame like? I'm 5ft5 and I've been advised to get down to 150lbs as I'm large framed but...........my ultimate goal is 136lbs!
Why do you feel you want to weigh 110lbs?
I think you need to take into consideration your frame and the level of activity you do before making any drastic changes. In my personal honest, 110lbs is way too low and there's a good chance you either end up losing muscle mass (go into a catabolic state), cause your body to go into starvation mode and/or mess up your periods.
You don't want any of those to happen pet.
Eat clean, set your macros to healthy % splits, aim for at least 2lts of water today and do regular exercise. Say if you carry out 4 x sessions a week, make sure 2 of them are weight bearing to aid your weight loss....and last but not least, good luck on your journey!!!0 -

agreed!!! strength training is so important!!!!0 -
I think 112 is on the very low end of BMI. I agree with a lot of the others. Strength training and eating well. I thing 125ish would be good. I really hope people aren't calling you fat That's not a good support system at all.
Good luck0 -

You've asked for opinions. We're not here to blindly agree with you for the h*ll of it. You can do whatever you put your mind to (if that's what you want to hear), but that doesn't mean the others replyiing to your post think that's wise. Maybe you "looked fat" a 130, but if you were TONED at 130, I'm guessing you wouldn't have. (IMO)0 -

hey
im 5'5 and im at 133, was 140 a month ago, i want to lose about 10lbs but no more then that, and i think i know here your coming from with the 130 and still feel/"look" chubby. i think a 48lb drop is way too much. just tone up. and it will all fall into place. im doing P90X right now and it working for me!0 -

The biggest part of "looking great and sexy" is attitude. You can be 130 with a great attitude and you WILL be sexy. You can be 110 with a crummy attitude and there is no way you'll look sexy.0
