Hi all, this is going to sound bad (at least in my mind) but I started this 30DS for the month of march. Yeserday was my first day and I woke up this morning in soreness from that workout. Any suggestions on how to get rid of soreness (the lactic acid build up) in my legs and abs?

The muscle soreness should ease off after 48 hrs, but a bit of extra stretching and, ironically, doing your work out, will help with it.

Personally don't feel like there's enough of a cooldown at the end of the workout, so I do extra stretches - which really works :)

Continue on with Day 2! :) It's normal to be pretty sore the first couple of days. My soreness was pretty much gone by Day 4. Good luck!

I usually stretch twice as long as Jillian does in her DVDs. Workout again today and you will feel better :)

Agree. Don't stop your workout but you may want to go a little easier. Be sure to stretch before and after. A little soreness is actually a good thing...it proves that you did a good workout.

Muscle soreness is from lactic acid build up, but it's also from the muscles being damaged and the inflammation caused by them repairing themselves into bigger and stronger muscles. I agree with the previous posting, as well as try taking a small dose of Advil or another anti-inflammatory.

When I tried the 30DS I was sore for 4 days after my first day!

im on day 8 and just started level 2 by day 5 you'll be fine and i dont get sore now.....i get some pulling but it doesnt hurt.....plenty of water, massage your legs as much as possible, sitting down amkes them seize up so try and keep active afterwards to let them cooldown slowly and jillian reccomends a protein shake straight after as it helps the muscle to repair quicker.....stick to it....it gets worse but then much better and much easier.....the way i look at it is at least if your sore, you knoe its working! good luck

Take a Tylenol. Keep up the work out stretch before you turn on the DVD and stretch more after you turn off the DVD. My soreness went away day 3.
