Please add if you are so moved.

The most common:
1. Measurement of food and calories/carbs are in correct .
Remedy: buy a kitchen scale
2. Not correctly estimating calories burned during workouts.
Remedy: get a hrm that gives you accuracy.
3. Pounds, stones, kilos aren't moving, but you feel better.
Remedy: start taking measurements of you body and logging them. You might be surprised.
4. Food intolerance or allergies.
Remedy: Notice how your body feels after a specific meal or snack. If you feel bloated or uncomfortable after something, you might want to try eliminating that food "group" or type. Research food intolerance on the web and have a look at your diet.
5. Eating too little calories and food with NO nutritional value.
Remedy: Make sure that your food has some value as well that it be pleasing to your pallet.
6. Boredom during your workout means your body is bored.
Remedy: Change your work out, add weight lifting , change cardio equipment, ad just five reps to a set.
7. Believing that you're fat.
Remedy: Believe it and you will see it.

Have a wonderful and blessed day! :flowerforyou:

    Unrealistic goals.
I'd venture this to be the top reason that people stall. How often do you see people on here, or talk with people in the real that expect to drop 3 years of weight gain in 2 months? Perhaps it's too much nonsense TV weight loss shows but everyone seems to expect to drop 3kg a week for ever.
 Set realistic short and mid term goals. Write them out, stick them on the fridge, tick each stage off as you progress. A proven motivator!

    Unsustainable diet.
OK maybe THIS is actually the top reason. Allied to the above really is the people that go on an extreme diet requiring tremendous willpower that leaves them physically and mentally exhausted after 2 weeks.
 The best diet is the one you can stick with.

Not eating enough calories stalled my weight loss. I would burn 600 calories at the gym and only eat 1200 calories the entire day. Once I started netting at least 1200 calories, the weight started coming off! :)

It will stall it now or it will make you resistant to losing weight later. I agree!

I so agree with the response 'setting unrealistic goals'. I recently started my weight lost journey and I sweat my *kitten* off in the gym and when I look in the mirror I tell myself that it took me 2 years to put on the weight so don't expect to lose it in 2 weeks!!!

I hope to really stick to my work out and diet, miracles do happen but we need to pay a price. Good luck all!

    Good post!

I would also like to add:

Perfectionism. Calling eating something you didn't plan for "cheating" and then "riding it out" until you "start your diet again" on "xyz day". Since starting this 2+ months ago, I've had all sorts of things that were not on my regular plan - beer, bread, dessert...just not all in one day. I try to plan ahead and have things on hand that fit my "core plan" but I also know that no person is going to be "perfect".

Remedy: Replace "I will be perfect" with "I will be PERSISTANT!"
