Hi,

I am currently doing some work experience at the Racing Post and I have been given something to research, and I think my MFP buddies might come in handy!

So what we want to do is buy a Heart Rate Monitor and have a horse trainer at the Cheltenham Festival wear it.

Sounds simple, but it isn't really because we have some requirements:

1) Must be strapless, could do with it just being a watch type, absolutely no chest straps.

2) Must be able to monitor over about 5 hours.

3) Must be able to establish a time frame in which the heart rate was at it's highest. The time frame must be accurate, almost to the second, because we want to be able to see if the trainers heart rate goes up when the horse jumps the last fence etc.

4) Also could do with being able to print the date off that the monitor records over the time. So a USB intergrated into the HRM would be great!

.........................

Can anybody help???

Well I use a Garmin Forerunner 305 to monitor my horses heart rate. It is a watch, but it uses the strap to read the heart rate (I purchased an adapter for it to convert to the horse). I am not sure about recording it down to the second. It can record for eight hours and I use a usb port to download the data to my laptop. Not sure if that helps...
