Apparently Avocados Can Make You Fat

This was a quote from a coworker today that gave me a good chuckle. I thought you folks here could appreciate it as it confirms that you're doing the right thing by counting calories! I know I was secretly thinking 'DUH!' when I heard it. Apparently he overdid it on avocado recently and gained some weight.
The backstory: My coworker has been on a juice fast, and while he's doing it more for the health benefits, he's also expecting to lose a decent amount of weight in the process. He's somewhat dismissive of counting calories, saying he like's to just 'go all the way with things," as in do something TEMPORARILY that gets fast results. He sees no need for a permanent lifestyle change.
I couldn't help but think 'I told you so' when I heard his 'realization' about avocados today. When he started the fast, I even mentioned to my husband (who works at the same place as me) that I wouldn't be surprised if our coworker saw little or no weight loss given the fact that he wasn't counting calories. One of his juices he described had 3 pieces of fruit in it which set off alarm bells in my head right away. He was obviously assuming that vegetables & fruits = weight loss. No need for portion control!
Just had to share! Keep doing what you're doing, and have a good weekend!
