I am new to this program. I have tried & failed numerous times to get rid of the excess "belly bulge" any suggestions on this topic would be appreciated as I have run out of ideas. by the way, I am usually at home or work more ofteen than not, so getting to a gym right now is all but impossible, so any workouts I could do at home would be great

you cant spot reduce fat..however cardio will help with overall fat loss, and lifting weights will help "tone" everything up.
have you done 30 day shred dvd? last time i did it, i lost 7 inches between my belly, arms, chest and thighs.
if you have or can get a barbell/dumbbell weight set for at home that could help too - in 6 weeks of lifting, i lost 4 inches off my waist, and 20 inches overalll

lifting heavy weights will also help with fat loss since more muscle = higher metabolism.

i've also heard it said that abs are created in the kitchen. so if you eat clean and healthy that might help as well

Unfortunately, there is a genetic factor involved. Some of us find it really difficult to lose the last bit of fat in the belly area, specifically under the navel, because we're predisposed to store fat there.

It's been said already, but there are no spot treatments. Your body will shed fat where it will shed fat; you can't control it. Toning muscle is fine but the visual difference is usually pretty minimal. Losing fat is a general process, and if you're at the point where you don't need to lose fat all over your body but still have some last reserves that are making you feel self-conscious, I would look at your diet more than exercise. Try a couple of weeks with a strict low-carb high-protein diet, and see what happens. I bet you will lose fat.
